Lamivudine Lawsuit Side Effects

              Lamivudine, contained in Epivir Tablets and Oral Solution, is a synthetic nucleoside analogue with activity against HIV-1 and HBV. Lamivudine has molecular weight of 229.3 and its chemical name is (2R,cis)-4- amino-l-(2-hydroxymethyl-l,3-oxathiolan-5-yl)-(lH)-pyrimidin-2-one. It is the (-)enantiomer of a dideoxy analogue of cytidine. Lamivudine has a solubility of approximately 70mg/mL in water at 20°C and is a white to off-white crystalline solid.

              Epivir Tablets are for oral administration and comes in 150mg or 300mg film coated tablets. The 150mg tablets are diamond shaped, white, scored, film coated tablets with “GX CJ7” debossed on both sides and the 300mg tablets are modified diamond-shaped, gray film-coated tablets with “GX EJ7” on one side and plain on the next side. The Epivir 150mg tablets come in a bottle of 60 tablets with child resistant closur. The Epivir 300mg tablets come in a bottle of 30 tablets with child resistant closure. Lawsuit Side Effects

 

              Epivir Oral Solution contains 10mg of lamivudine per 1mL and is a clear, colorless to pale yellow, strawberry-banana flavored liquid. The oral solution comes in a plastic bottle of 240mL with child-resistan closure.

              Each 150mg tablet contains 150mg of lamivudine and the inactive ingredients hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide. Lawsuit Side Effects

              Each 300mg tablet contains 300mg of lamivudine and the inactive ingredients black iron oxide, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide.

              Epivir Oral Solution is for oral administration and contains 10mg of lamivudine in an aqueous solution in every 1mL of solution. The oral solution also contains the inactive ingredients artificial strawberry and banana flavors, citric acid (anhydrous), methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, sodium citrate (dihydrate), and sucrose (200 mg).

              Epivir is a nucleoside analogue used in combination with other antiretroviral agents to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) infection. This product is for HIV-1 and not for HBV. Lawsuit Side Effects

              For HIV-1-infected adults and adolescents older than 16 years of age the recommended oral dose of Epivir is 300mg/day as either a dose of 150mg twice daily or 300mg once a day, in combination with other antiretroviral agents. The dosage indicated for HIV-1 therapy should be used as part of an appropriate combination regimen if lamivudine is administered to a patient infected with HIV-1 and HBV. Lawsuit Side Effects

              For HIV-1-infected pediatric , between 3 months and 16 years old, the recommended oral dose of Epivir Oral Solution is 4mg/kg twice daily (up to. a maximum of 150 mg twice a day), administered in combination with other antiretroviral agents.
